Sustainability
Light by design.
Efficient pages cost less to serve, load faster on poor connections and emit less carbon. We hold this site to the same standard we hold the systems we run for clients.
The reading
Measured, not asserted.
The figure below is measured on your device: the page counts the bytes it transferred to reach you, then converts them to grams of CO₂ with the Sustainable Web Design model. No crawler, no assumed average, just the load that actually happened.
Most sites embed the official badge script to show this number. We do not run third-party scripts, so the page takes its own measurement and uses Website Carbon’s public data endpoint only to convert bytes to grams. When that endpoint is unreachable the conversion runs locally, so the reading does not depend on anyone else being up. It is cached on your device for a day.
The independent result for the site is public: websitecarbon.com/website/hove-capital.
Practice
How it stays light.
- 01 Served from the edge
Pages render on Cloudflare’s edge network, close to the reader. Shorter distances and fewer round trips mean less energy per request.
- 02 Nothing we did not write
Two colours, three self-hosted typefaces and no third-party scripts. No trackers, no video, no weight the page has not earned.
- 03 Treated as production
Page weight is a budget and a regression against it is a defect. The same discipline we apply to the systems we operate.
